Optimisation Services for UK-based 1GW Solar PV Project
Project: Design Optimisation of Utility-Scale Solar Cluster
Work: Mammoth’s Team was engaged to develop optimised layouts across multiple allocated land parcels within a 1GW solar cluster, with the objective of maximising installed Solar PV capacity. The team was also tasked with proposing the most efficient and cost-effective interconnection strategy between the individual solar farms, intermediate substations, and the main grid connection point. The scope of work involved extensive use of PVsyst for generation modelling, PVCase for detailed design, and GIS tools for spatial analysis and constraint mapping. The design process required multiple iterations to respond to a range of constraints, including local planning guidelines, environmental and ecological sensitivities, and arborist constraints defined by the planning authorities.
Result: The team delivered a comprehensive set of optimised design packages, including high-yield PV layouts and a strategic interconnection plan ensuring the most efficient connection across the solar cluster.
